Successful recruitment for the RKI
From spring 2020 onwards, the Federal Office of Administration recruited around 2,500 so-called Containment Scouts on behalf of the Robert Koch Institute. They helped health authorities to trace contacts of COVID-19 infected persons more quickly and effectively. They were usually students of medicine or other health sciences who were initially trained with RKI materials after successfully applying to the BVA.
The job offer, published in March at the beginning of the corona pandemic, attracted enormous interest. Within a few days, the BVA received almost 11,000 applications. These were categorised and evaluated by BVA Recruitment in ten working days. Those who were convincing in the interview with the BVA teams were given a six-month contract as employees of the Federal Office of Administration.
According to their local preferences, the Containment Scouts were deployed in the health offices of the federal states. After a successful six months, the initiative was extended several times and consistently received a lot of interest.
